Etihad Rail will formally launch its Dubai–Abu Dhabi and Dubai–Fujairah passenger services on Wednesday, September 30, with ticket sales having reopened this past Monday after a brief pause. Travellers will depart from Al Yalayis station in Dubai, connecting either to Mohamed Bin Zayed station in Abu Dhabi or Madinat Al Hilal station in Fujairah.
Under the published schedule, the Dubai–Abu Dhabi route will run four trains a day, departing at 6:14am, 7:14am, 1:14pm and 5:14pm, with a journey time of roughly 64 minutes. Fares are set at Dh39 for Comfort class and Dh109 for Premium.
The Dubai–Fujairah route takes about 70 minutes, with fares of Dh29 for Comfort and Dh89 for Premium. For now, only one departure is scheduled each way: 1:57pm from Dubai and 11:54am from Fujairah. Al Dhaid station in Sharjah is part of the wider network but ticket bookings for it have not yet opened.
The launch builds on Etihad Rail's first passenger service, which began operating on June 30, ahead of which more than 10,000 tickets had already been sold. The company's rollout plan calls for Madinat Zayed and Liwa stations to open on November 30, followed by Al Sila, Al Dhannah and Mirfa stations on December 30. University City station in Sharjah is scheduled to follow on March 30, 2027.
The expansion is part of Etihad Rail's broader push to connect the UAE's cities with a fast, affordable rail network, offering an alternative to road travel between the emirates as the country's passenger rail system continues to grow station by station over the coming year.
