Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in coordination with Dubai Police, has announced new truck movement restrictions on several major roads across the city, effective October 1, 2026. The measure is part of RTA's ongoing effort to improve traffic management, ease congestion on main roads and increase capacity for passenger vehicles on the affected routes.
Under the new rules, trucks will be banned around the clock on Al Qudra Street, Meydan Street, all marine bridges and the Airport Tunnel. On Sheikh Zayed Road, Beirut Street and in the residential areas of Al Mizhar, Muhaisnah and Oud Al Muteena, a 16-hour restriction will apply daily from 6am to 10pm.
Additional peak-hour restrictions will be enforced on Airport Road, Oman Street and Damascus Street during three daily windows — 6:30am to 8:30am, 1pm to 3pm, and 5:30pm to 8pm — covering the morning, midday and evening rush periods.
The RTA confirmed that Emirates Road is exempt from the new restrictions, effectively making it the main alternative corridor for truck transit across the emirate.
Authorities have urged truck drivers and logistics companies to review their delivery schedules and routes ahead of the October 1 start date to avoid fines and disruption to cargo operations. Dubai's traffic authorities described the initiative as part of a wider push to smooth traffic flow and improve road safety on the city's busiest corridors.
