Capella Hotel Group has unveiled plans for its second property in the Gulf region: an ultra-luxury resort on Dubai Peninsula, overlooking the Jumeirah coastline, scheduled to welcome guests in 2030.

The nine-storey resort will house 115 rooms and suites with direct access to a private beach. The architecture and interiors are being handled by Denniston, the studio behind One&Only One Za'abeel in Dubai and Aman New York. Guests will enter through a 25-metre-high courtyard lined with marble columns, setting the tone for a design concept described as a contemporary beachfront palace. The colour palette draws on sandstone and coral stone, paired with neutral earth tones and washed blue accents.

Amenities will include a rooftop restaurant and bar, a rooftop pool, a communal space called the Capella Living Room, a spa with treatment rooms, a plunge pool and a hammam, botanical gardens, a fitness centre and multiple standalone dining venues. The resort forms part of the wider Dubai Peninsula development, where Aman and Rosewood are also building properties along the same stretch of coast.

This will be Capella's second resort in the region after Capella Diriyah, which is due to open in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2027. The two openings reflect a broader trend of international ultra-luxury hospitality brands expanding into the Gulf, as Dubai and other regional cities compete for high-end travellers. With Dubai Peninsula emerging as a cluster of five-star names along Jumeirah's coastline, the project signals how the emirate's hospitality sector continues to position itself for the top end of the global tourism market even years ahead of each property's actual opening date.
