Flydubai has extended the cancellation of its flights to three Saudi Arabian cities — Riyadh, Dammam and Abha — by a further five days, now running until October 29. The extension follows a series of Houthi attacks on Saudi airports and heightened regional security concerns.

The Dubai-based carrier said in a statement: "Due to the ongoing situation, we expect some disruption to our scheduled operations to Saudi Arabia." The previous cancellation deadline had been set for October 24 before being pushed back.

The decision follows an October 21 attack on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam that killed two people and injured eight others. Figures show that between October 8 and 15 alone, more than 4,000 departures from Saudi Arabia were cancelled — roughly 46 percent of all flights scheduled during that period.

Passengers with bookings to any of the three destinations are advised to check Flydubai's official channels for updates. With regional tensions still unresolved, a further extension of the cancellations cannot be ruled out.
