Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, unveiled new growth targets for Dubai AI Campus on Monday during the opening of the third edition of the Dubai AI Festival, setting a goal of attracting more than 1,000 artificial intelligence companies and creating over 5,000 specialised jobs by 2030.
Dubai AI Campus, located in the Zabeel District expansion alongside the Dubai International Financial Centre, launched in May 2024 with an initial target of 500 companies. That goal has already been met two years ahead of schedule. The campus currently hosts more than 500 AI firms, which together have created over 2,000 specialised technology jobs and attracted more than Dh1 billion in private equity and venture capital funding.
To keep pace with demand, authorities plan a new 100,000-square-foot facility dedicated to supporting AI development, testing and commercialisation. Officials described the expanded targets as part of Dubai's broader push to position itself among the world's leading hubs for the artificial intelligence economy.
The Dubai AI Festival, running Monday and Tuesday, brings together companies, investors and researchers from around the world and is expected to serve as a platform for new AI-related ventures and partnerships in the emirate.
