Abu Dhabi-based technology group G42 has signed a series of agreements with Greek government bodies and private organisations to build out artificial intelligence infrastructure and services across the country. Five G42 subsidiaries — Khazna Data Centers, Core42, Presight, Inception42 and M42 — are party to the deals, alongside Greek partners including the Copelouzos Group, the Ministry of Digital Governance and the Athens LifeTech Park.
The agreements span a wide range of sectors: healthcare and medical research covering cancer, rare genetic diseases, neuroscience and genomics; education, through AI-powered tutoring platforms; smart cities and public safety; government administration; and utilities such as waste management and water network monitoring.
Among the flagship proposals is an "AI factory" that would combine data centre capacity with cloud computing under one roof. Other initiatives include AI tools designed to support government monitoring and cabinet-level decision-making, as well as smart systems for urban services and public transport safety.
Mansoor Al Mansoori, chief executive of G42 International, said the agreements would strengthen technological cooperation between the UAE and Greece. The deals mark the latest step in G42's international expansion, after the Abu Dhabi firm built a presence in AI infrastructure and data centres in several countries in recent years.
No specific financial figures for the overall value of the agreements were disclosed. Both sides said the various initiatives would be rolled out in phases over the coming months, with healthcare and education projects expected to be among the first to move forward.
