In the first weekly e-draw of October, Mohamed Yahya Tanwar, a person of determination originally from Mumbai and now based in Sharjah, won a 200-gram, 24-karat gold bar in the Abu Dhabi-based Big Ticket raffle. His 56-year-old father, who runs the family business and has lived in the UAE for 40 years, had bought the ticket in his son's name.

Speaking afterward, the father said Mohamed had been his lucky charm since the day he was born, which is why he chose to register the ticket under his son's name. Mohamed picked the winning number himself. The father said that when he first got the call about the win, he assumed it was a scam until he confirmed the result online.

He stressed that since the ticket belonged to his son, the prize money was Mohamed's too, and that he intended to use it for whatever his son needs. The draw produced four winners in total, from India and the Philippines.

Big Ticket's weekly e-draws are streamed live on the company's YouTube channel and website at 7:30pm, with two more draws left before the end of October. Alongside its signature SUV giveaways, Big Ticket also distributes cash prizes and gold bars through regular raffles, making it one of the most closely followed recurring draws among UAE residents — and stories like the Tanwar family's tend to resonate widely once they're shared.
