Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, disclosed the scale of the emirate's active development pipeline at the Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Forum, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre before roughly 1,000 government and private sector leaders. The combined value of projects currently under way stands at Dh2.1 trillion.

The largest single allocation, Dh1.1 trillion, goes to residential real estate, with plans to deliver around 350,000 new housing units by 2030. Expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport is budgeted at about Dh128 billion and is designed to raise annual passenger capacity to 260 million, positioning it as one of the world's largest aviation hubs once complete.

Fleet expansion across Emirates and flydubai carries a price tag of Dh328 billion, while a new Emirates engineering and maintenance complex is being built for Dh18.7 billion. On the transport side, Dh100 billion has been set aside for road upgrades and the extension of the Dubai Metro's Blue and Gold lines.

Among the infrastructure projects announced were the Dh80 billion Strategic Sewerage Tunnels system and Dh151 billion in power and water facilities. A second phase of the Dubai International Financial Centre, budgeted at Dh100 billion, is also moving forward.

Closing his remarks, Sheikh Mohammed said: "Our momentum is continuous and our achievements are ongoing. This is a remarkable period for growth and development," underlining Dubai's intent to keep expanding its housing, aviation and transport capacity through the end of the decade.
