Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued a message on Thursday, October 22, mourning the passing of Major General Khalifa Bin Dhaen Al Mheiri, a long-serving senior commander in the Dubai Police force.

Major General Al Mheiri had completed 50 years of continuous service with Dubai Police, holding several leadership positions over the course of his career. In his tribute, Sheikh Mohammed described him as one of Dubai's loyal men, writing that Dubai never forgets those who served it faithfully, and prayed that he be granted a place in God's spacious paradise.

The message, published on Sheikh Mohammed's official channels, emphasised the officer's loyalty, professional expertise and decades-long contribution to Dubai and the Al Maktoum family. Separately, Dubai Police leadership issued its own statements recognising Al Mheiri's role in building and strengthening the force over nearly half a century.

The death of a senior officer with such a long record of service typically draws wide official reaction in the UAE, reflecting the weight Dubai's leadership places on its security institutions and on individuals who devoted much of their lives to serving the city. Further details on funeral arrangements and public condolences have not yet been released by authorities.
