Argentine football star Lionel Messi has ordered an 88-foot luxury yacht from Sunreef Yachts' shipyard in Ras Al Khaimah, which operates alongside the brand's Poland facility as one of its main production hubs for luxury catamarans.

The model Messi chose, the Sunreef ULTIMA 88, is a catamaran featuring four guest cabins and a full-beam master suite. The yacht will be powered by twin 1,000-horsepower engines for a combined 2,000 horsepower, and will include a jet-ski garage, an ocean lounge opening toward the water, and extensive outdoor lounging areas. the vessel will be based in Spain's Balearic Islands once completed, joining Messi's personal fleet under the name MIM Ocean. Explaining his choice, Messi said: "Sunreef Yachts have the style and features I really like, and they're a perfect fit for what I'm looking for."

Sunreef Yachts CEO Francis Lapp added: "True luxury is the freedom to choose how you spend your time, with the people who matter most."

The order highlights Ras Al Khaimah's growing role as an emerging hub for luxury yacht manufacturing in the Middle East — an industry that has expanded rapidly in the UAE in recent years as brands like Sunreef invest in regional production, drawing growing interest from international clients.
