Etihad Rail has opened ticket sales for its first passenger service connecting Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with the line set to begin operations on September 30. The journey between the two emirates will take just one hour and four minutes, faster than the typical road trip.
Fares start at Dh39 per person in Comfort class, while Premium class tickets cost Dh109. Premium passengers get wider, more reclined seating with extra legroom, complimentary refreshments and a quieter cabin, while Comfort class includes free Wi-Fi, power outlets and food and beverage service.
The Dubai terminal, Al Yalayis Station, is located in Jumeirah Golf Estates, with Al Dhaid Station in Sharjah also served on the route. A future Meydan Station is planned to link the rail network directly to Dubai Metro's Gold Line. The first daily departure from Dubai leaves at 6:15am, with four further trips to Abu Dhabi throughout the day, plus one daily service to Fujairah taking around one hour and ten minutes.
Passengers can book through the Etihad Rail website or mobile app, choosing between Saver, Value and Flex fare options. Officials say the Nol card, already used across Dubai's metro, bus and taxi network, will eventually be integrated with the rail service as well, extending the emirate's unified public transport system.
The Dubai-Abu Dhabi line is part of Etihad Rail's wider national network, designed to make inter-emirate travel faster, more affordable and better connected as the UAE's rail infrastructure expands.
