Etihad Rail has introduced a one-day Nol pass that links its national train service directly to Dubai's public transport network, with the offering going live on September 30. A single QR code covers both the train ticket and access to Dubai Metro, the Dubai Tram and RTA buses within applicable zones.
The standard pass costs Dh22 per passenger, while a Gold version costs Dh42 and grants access to first-class cabins on the Metro and Tram. Once purchased, the pass remains valid for 90 days and can be activated on a day different from the actual train journey. It is non-refundable if a passenger misses their train, though it can still be used within that window.
The launch coincides with the opening of a new rail link connecting Al Yalayis Station in Jumeirah Golf Estates with Abu Dhabi and Fujairah, extending Etihad Rail's passenger network further into the emirate. Travellers can add the pass during ticket booking under end-to-end journey options, or purchase it separately through RTA smart channels such as Nol Pay and S'hail.
The pass is registered to a single user and cannot be shared or transferred. Officials describe the initiative as a step toward removing friction for passengers who need to continue their journey on local transport after arriving at a rail station, rather than arranging separate taxi or ride-hailing trips.
As Etihad Rail's network expands to more emirates, integrated passes of this kind are expected to become a more common way for commuters and visitors to move between intercity rail and city transport without buying multiple tickets.
