Air France has pushed back the resumption of its Dubai flights from October 13 to October 24, citing what the French carrier described as an "evolving security situation" in the region. The airline said it continues to monitor developments before making a final call on when services will restart.
The extension comes amid a wider bout of disruption across UAE aviation on Wednesday morning, with a number of Emirates and flydubai flights delayed at Dubai International Airport, while Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport also reported knock-on delays. Passengers were urged to check their departure times before heading to the airport.
Several cancellations were also reported through the day. Air Arabia scrapped four flights to Kuwait and Bahrain, flydubai suspended its Dubai-Abha route, and Jazeera Airways cancelled a service to Kuwait. Other carriers named among those affected by the broader disruption included Air India, Ethiopian Airlines and SpiceJet.
The turbulence in flight schedules reflects how regional tensions continue to weigh on airlines operating into and out of the UAE, one of the world's busiest aviation hubs. Dubai International alone handles tens of millions of passengers a year, and even short-notice schedule changes can ripple through connecting itineraries across the Gulf and beyond.
Travellers with upcoming bookings to or through Dubai are advised to monitor official updates directly from their airline and from airport authorities, since schedules could shift again with little warning. Neither Dubai Airports nor UAE aviation authorities had issued a separate statement on the Air France extension at the time of writing.
