Dubai is set to host the UAE's first family-focused curly hair festival on Saturday, October 10, at Cornelia's Craft Kitchen in Dubai Internet City. The one-day event runs from 10am to 6pm with no fixed schedule, letting visitors drop in and stay as long as they like.
The festival is organised by Oh My Knots, which describes itself as the UAE's first community-led platform for curly, coily and kinky hair, catering to curl types ranging from 2B to 4C. According to the platform's own research, 69 percent of its community are actively seeking product recommendations tailored to Gulf conditions, while 77 percent say they want simpler routines with fewer products, reflecting the toll that hard water, heat and humidity take on curly hair in the region.
Visitors can expect brand stands featuring curly hair products, live styling demonstrations, and direct interaction with participating brands, along with product sampling before purchase. Every ticket holder receives a goodie bag from participating brands, and dedicated activities are planned for children, with organisers encouraging families to attend together.
Early-bird tickets start from Dh100 for adults, with family passes covering two adults and two children also available. Organisers say the festival is expected to become an annual fixture, with more participating brands to be announced for future editions.
