Dubai Police urged the public to verify the source of any offer before buying and to avoid clicking on suspicious links shared through messaging apps or social media. "Taking a few moments to verify where an offer comes from can help protect personal information and prevent financial losses," the force said in its statement.
Anyone who suspects they have encountered a scam can report it through the eCrime platform or by calling 901. The warning comes as Global Village prepares to welcome millions of visitors from across the world during its winter season, a period that consistently ranks among Dubai's busiest for tourism, retail and family entertainment, with themed pavilions representing dozens of countries alongside rides, live performances and international dining options.
