UAE motorists may be facing a new all-time high at the pump next month, as analysts warn that November fuel prices could approach or even surpass the previous record of Dh4.63 per litre, set in July 2022 at the height of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
As things stand in October, Super 98 is selling at Dh4.40 a litre, Special 95 at Dh4.28, and E-Plus 91 at Dh4.21. The UAE's fuel price committee will announce official November rates, as usual, on Saturday, October 31.
The pressure comes largely from the wider region. Continued attacks linked to Houthi forces on Saudi energy infrastructure have pushed Brent crude above $116 a barrel, and December delivery contracts averaged around $107.30 in October, up from roughly $102 in September, a clear signal that upward momentum has been building through the month.
Some analysts caution that the picture could still shift before Saturday's announcement, noting that diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating regional tensions may yet temper the increase. For UAE households and businesses, fuel remains a significant line item in monthly budgets, and a new record price would mark the first time pump prices have exceeded the 2022 peak, adding fresh pressure on transport and logistics costs across the country.
