Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, approved on Sunday, September 27, the strategy of the Dubai Longevity Authority, a comprehensive plan aimed at positioning the emirate as a global hub for healthy longevity, wellness and advanced healthcare. The strategy builds on Law No. 17 of 2026, which established the authority back in June.
Officials estimate the initiative could add roughly Dh35 billion to Dubai's economy over the next decade, with the sector targeted to grow at about 31 percent annually. The plan spans research and development, clinical trials, manufacturing, healthcare delivery, specialised patient clinics, and the regulatory frameworks needed to govern longevity-related therapies.
Sheikh Hamdan, who also serves as president of the Dubai Longevity Authority, said the approval marks a new phase in Dubai's ambition to shape the future of health and become a global centre for healthy longevity. Helal Saeed Almarri has been named chairman of the authority's board.
The strategy's core goals include strengthening Dubai's global competitiveness in healthcare, improving quality of life and healthy life expectancy, and attracting investment, specialised talent and advanced technologies to the emirate. It is designed to align with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the Dubai Social Agenda 33, forming part of the emirate's broader push to diversify its economy beyond traditional sectors.
