Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has announced it will open up Dh60 billion, around $16.3 billion, in local manufacturing opportunities to UAE-based suppliers and manufacturers through 2030. The programme spans more than 200 essential products and critical spare parts, including drilling equipment, electrical systems, chemicals, catalysts, piping and heavy machinery.

Specific items targeted for local production include electrical submersible pumps, oil country tubular goods, seamless pipes and compressors. The initiative is designed to cut Adnoc's reliance on overseas supply chains and speed up procurement by building stronger manufacturing capacity inside the UAE.

Dr Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Adnoc's Managing Director, said: "We are inviting companies to build capabilities in the UAE that will serve our industry and country for years to come." Omar Al Nuaimi, Adnoc's group chief for commercial and in-country value, noted that domestic suppliers had helped keep operations running smoothly through recent global disruptions.

Salama Al Awadhi, Senior Vice President for group commercial, said supplier registration now takes just one day, down from several weeks previously. Osama Fadhel of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology added that cutting red tape has become part of the ministry's core approach to doing business.

The programme forms part of a broader UAE push to diversify the economy and strengthen domestic industrial output, and is expected to create fresh investment and job opportunities for small and medium-sized Emirati manufacturers in the years ahead.
