Louvre Abu Dhabi has announced the six finalists for its 2026 Richard Mille Art Prize, chosen from more than 300 submissions received for the award's sixth edition. The shortlisted artists are Ahaad Alamoudi from Saudi Arabia, Almaha Jaralla from the UAE, Dubai-based Malaysian artist Muhammad Shamin Sahrum, and Indian artists Ravikumar Kashi, Reena Kallat and Vivek Vilasini.
The eventual winner will receive a $60,000 prize. The jury includes curator Kamini Sawhney, art patron Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa, Louvre Abu Dhabi's director of scientific, curatorial and collections Guilhem Andre, and Maya Allison, founding executive director of NYU Abu Dhabi's art programme.
Works by all six finalists will go on show as part of Art Here 2026, the museum's annual exhibition staged beneath its central dome. This year's theme, "Confluences," explores the centuries-old connections between India and the Gulf shaped by trade, migration and cultural exchange across the Indian Ocean. The overall winner will be announced later in the exhibition season.
The Richard Mille Art Prize, a joint initiative between Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Swiss watchmaker, has grown over six editions into one of the region's notable platforms for contemporary artists from the Gulf and Asia. This year's pool of more than 300 submissions points to steadily rising international interest in the award. Visitors to Abu Dhabi during the exhibition period will be able to see all six shortlisted artists' work on display at Louvre Abu Dhabi's Art Here show.
