The re-release of Avengers: Endgame, titled "Encore," was pulled from Kuwaiti cinemas just hours before it was due to open alongside the rest of the region. Cinema operators in Kuwait said only that the decision was made due to "circumstances beyond its control," without disclosing further detail. September 24, hours ahead of the film's regional release, Kuwait has previously blocked the release of several major Hollywood productions under its strict content standards. VOX Cinemas thanked audiences for their "patience and understanding while we resolve this," while Cinescape committed to issuing full refunds for all tickets already booked.
Customers who purchased tickets online will receive automatic refunds with no action required on their part. Those who bought tickets at the box office will need to visit the cinema with proof of purchase to have their refund processed.
The Encore version is a re-release of the original 2019 film featuring roughly four minutes of new footage, designed to tie the story into the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, due in cinemas on December 18, 2026. The report noted that the release proceeded without issue elsewhere in the region.
