Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, met with Gan Kim Yong, Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Trade and Industry, and Dr Tan See Leng, Singapore's Minister for Energy, Trade and Industry, to discuss deepening trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. The meeting, also attended by Dr Abdulnasser Jamal Al Shaali, UAE Ambassador to Singapore, explored ways to expand partnership opportunities and tap into emerging economic prospects.
Officials cited bilateral non-oil trade between the UAE and Singapore reaching $6.54 billion in 2025, a 25.3 per cent rise from $5.2 billion in 2024. UAE direct investment in Singapore totalled $5.12 billion between 2021 and 2025, while 230 Singaporean companies currently operate in the UAE.
Both sides stressed the value of exchanging expertise to support sustainable economic growth and discussed ways to encourage companies and investors from both countries to translate investment opportunities into concrete projects, strengthening the private sector's role in driving bilateral cooperation. Priority sectors identified for closer collaboration include real estate, hospitality, tourism, energy, telecommunications, transport and warehousing.
"Our partnership with Singapore continues to grow on solid foundations, particularly in trade and investment," Al Zeyoudi said, adding that the two sides aim to unlock new opportunities for companies and investors in both markets.
The talks build on a steady expansion of UAE-Singapore economic ties in recent years, as both governments look to diversify trade links and deepen private-sector engagement across a widening range of industries, from traditional trade in goods to services, technology and logistics.
