The UAE's fuel price committee has announced new petrol and diesel rates for October 2026, with all grades rising for a fourth consecutive month. Super 98 petrol now costs Dh4.40 a litre, up 60 fils from September's Dh3.80. Special 95 climbed from Dh3.69 to Dh4.28, while E-Plus 91 rose by the same 60 fils to reach Dh4.21 a litre. Diesel increased by 50 fils to Dh4.80 a litre.

The latest increase pushes UAE fuel prices above the Dh4 mark across the board, taking rates to their highest level in four years, according to market sources. Analysts attribute the rise mainly to higher global crude prices, with oil trading around $107 a barrel in recent weeks.

Fuel costs in the UAE have fluctuated through the year: prices fell in July before climbing again in August and September, and October marks the fourth straight monthly increase. Energy market watchers link part of the trend to ongoing regional tensions that have kept global oil markets on edge.

The UAE adjusts fuel prices monthly under its deregulated pricing system, which tracks international oil markets rather than fixing rates administratively. The policy, in place since 2015, is meant to reflect real market costs while allowing the government to redirect fuel subsidies toward other public spending.

Higher pump prices are expected to feed through into transport, taxi and delivery costs across the country. Residents have been advised to plan household budgets around the possibility of further monthly adjustments, since the pricing formula moves in step with global crude benchmarks.
