Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai, which has welcomed shoppers since 2005 and draws roughly 1.5 million visits a month, is rolling out 38 new retail, dining and entertainment outlets as part of a wide-ranging redevelopment push. Mall management says 21 of the new openings are already trading, while the remaining 17 are scheduled to open by the end of 2027.
On the food and beverage side, new arrivals include Five Guys, Jimmy John's, Marugame Udon, Caribou Coffee, Peet's Coffee, Ocean Basket, Asia Kitchen, Halla Shawarma, Zaika, Butter & Bread and Smoothie Factory. The entertainment line-up has been bolstered by Roxy Cinemas, Hopa Loompa Entertainment, Zamania by Leo & Loona, Like Bricks and Toy Station.
Retail additions include Jack & Jones, Anta, Tanishq, Magrabi, Mumuso, Suit Sartoria, OWNDAYS, Chemist Warehouse and Midi, while new services on offer range from ADCB banking to Amit Care and Doctor M clinics.
Mall management has framed the expansion as part of a "comprehensive redevelopment strategy" aimed at broadening the retail, dining and entertainment mix at the Jebel Ali-area mall. The move comes as a direct response to chatter questioning whether footfall at the two-decade-old mall was slowing, with the roll-out instead signalling an active push to widen its tenant base.
Given the mall's steady visitor numbers, retail analysts see the 38-brand expansion as part of a broader trend among Dubai's established shopping centres to keep competing for new international and regional brands.
