Abu Dhabi has become home to the region's first AI-driven vehicle manufacturing facility. ROX has completed its Advanced AI Manufacturing Centre in the emirate and started local production, with the first three ADAMAS vehicles carrying the "Made in the Emirates" mark rolling off the line.
The plant occupies 10,000 square metres inside the Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi industrial ecosystem. It handles local sub-assembly of more than eighty types of vehicle components alongside full vehicle assembly, calibration, rain testing, road testing and final inspection before delivery. Production lines are designed to run largely without human intervention.
Capacity plans are ambitious. The facility is expected to build 20,000 vehicles in 2027, scaling to 300,000 a year by 2030 to serve both domestic demand and export markets across the region and beyond.
The project builds on ROX's partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and is backed by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology under the "Make it in the Emirates" umbrella, feeding into the country's Operation 300Bn industrial strategy.
Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Undersecretary at the ministry, said the start of ADAMAS production shows the UAE's ability to attract and localise advanced industries spanning assembly, design, research and artificial intelligence. Mohammad Ali Al Kamali of ADIO called it a clear example of industrial investment translating into real local production. ROX founder and chief executive Jarvis described the opening as a starting point for expansion from Abu Dhabi into international markets.
ROX also unveiled an AI LAB and a Design Studio in the emirate. Its first UAE-designed vehicle is due in March 2027, drawing on Khoos, the Emirati craft of weaving palm fronds. Two cars from this first batch will soon set off across Africa toward Casablanca.
